In those specific cases where it is deemed necessary to dewater a work site that is located in aquatic habitat, the work area shall be isolated and all the flowing water upstream of the work site shall be temporarily diverted around the work site to maintain downstream flows during construction. Prior to dewatering, determine the best means to bypass flow through the work area to minimize disturbance to the channel and avoid direct mortality of fish and other aquatic vertebrates (as described more fully below under General Conditions for Fish Capture and Relocation).
