A USFWS-Approved Biologist will conduct surveys of suitable habitat in the project area for presence of the California freshwater shrimp in the work area 24 hours prior to any vegetative clearing work, dewatering, or ground-disturbing activities. The USFWS-Approved Biologist will determine whether a visual survey of habitat is adequate to confirm the need for CAFS-4, or whether aquatic sampling is needed, and will implement the survey accordingly.
