To minimize effects to nesting least Bell’s vireos, all clearing of vegetation in occupied habitat or potential suitable habitat will occur outside the breeding season (September 16 through March 14). If the breeding season cannot be avoided, a USFWS-Approved Biologist will conduct preconstruction nesting bird surveys at least 48 hours before and no more than 1 week prior to vegetation removal. If no active nests are found in the project area, project activities may proceed.
